7 tips for skin care for rosacea
What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a non-contagious, mostly easily treatable, yet non-curable chronic skin disease. It usually occurs on the face. Light-skinned people are most often affected and the disease first appears predominantly from middle age onwards. In 80% of all patients it starts from the age of 30 or later. Children only get sick in rare cases. In that age group, the eye regions alone are occasionally affected. Rosacea is also called copper rose, couperose or red fin.
How does rosacea develop?
Rosacea is caused by various factors such as hereditary predisposition, disorders in the immune system or blood circulation. It is also believed that the Demodex mite - a hair follicle mite found on everyone's facial skin - can be a factor in the inflammatory response.
Signs of rosacea?
Rosacea occurs in various forms. An early form is volatile, seizure-like reddening of the face, which is triggered by various stimuli, for example alcohol or a too hot shower. The sudden, temporary blush is called "flush". The skin of those affected is extremely sensitive and irritable. Other symptoms of rosacea include:
• Persistent facial flushing
• Papules and pustules
• Skin thickening and / or swelling
• Symptoms on the eyes
The symptoms described can occur separately or in combinations.
Triggers of rosacea:
Rosacea triggers are separate in this way like their symptoms. Triggers that can lead to a rosacea flare are called "trigger factors". Affected people are hypersensitive to specific triggers and subsequently create a surge of rosacea. A sudden and intense, despite all of this temporary flush of redness is called "flush". However, persistent facial flushing and the increased appearance of papules and pustules can be caused with the help of separate triggers.
Rosacea can be triggered by:
• UV radiation
• alcohol
• Cold & heat
• Spicy food
• Unsuitable skin care & cosmetics
• Stress, excitement & specific emotional situations
• Sports & physical exertion
• Demodex mites

7 tips for skin care & cosmetics for rosacea
Tip 1: gentle facial cleansing
Clean your face a maximum of 1 to 2 times a day, for example in the morning after getting up and in the evening before going to bed. Use lukewarm water because ice-cold or too hot water irritates the sensitive blood vessels on your face and makes you blush. Dry your face gently - dab with a soft towel or facial tissue and never rub. We recommend one tonic by Medicorp.
Tip 2: Use light care products
Light care products like ours are suitable for rosacea Super cream blue or Aloe Vera Gel Important: Always apply the medication for rosacea prescribed by the dermatologist immediately after cleaning and let it take effect for a few minutes before using your skin care product.
We recommend our medical one for sensitive skin Aloe Vera Gel:
Tip 3: Protection from the sun's rays
UV radiation is particularly bad for your skin and can also promote rosacea. Therefore, try to avoid direct sun from spring to autumn and always apply a day care product.
Tip 4: Avoid dangerous ingredients
As a rosacea patient, you should avoid additives in care products if possible. Also avoid products for blemished skin and anti-aging cosmetics with skin-irritating substances such as vitamin A or fruit acids. The "black list" also includes toning additives such as witch hazel, sage or zinc sulfate and fat-containing preparations.
Tip 5: Make-up is allowed
You can also put on make-up with rosacea. Many modern make-up or day care products have been specifically developed to hide redness and even out skin tone - ours, for example Collagen cream or Super cream blue. When buying cosmetics, also pay attention to the note "not comedogenic".
Tip 6: Dermatologists & cosmetic institutes also advise on skin care
You can ask your dermatologist or your beautician for specific recommendations on care and cosmetic products for your sensitive rosacea skin. Many dermatological practices have their own cosmetic institute and offer a close link between medical treatment and cosmetic care.
Tip 7: Always test new skin care products
Test new products for their tolerance, because the skin reacts differently to individual care ingredients in every person affected by rosacea. It's best to test one more Hyaluron balm or Pigment cream, on the compatibility. Before using for the first time, apply a small amount of the care product to an inconspicuous area of skin on the face, for example on the chin, for one to two days.
We recommend as Day and night care our medical Super cream blue: alternatively ours Collagen cream.
