Microneedling - The solution for beautiful skin
What is microneedling anyway?
In microneedling, the problematic areas of the skin are treated with a so-called dermaroller or needling pen, a type of roller that is studded with fine needles. The needling pen is a type of pen on which a sterile needle attachment is placed. Here you can now set the penetration depth of the needles, the number of needles and the speed of penetration.
Who is Microneedling for?
Microneedling is suitable for a variety of skin problems. But because it is primarily a cosmetic application, this is most often done on the face and neck as well as on the hands and in the area of the cleavage. The method has proven particularly effective for the following skin problems:
- Scars like surgical scars, acne scars or burn scars
- wrinkles
- Stretch marks / stretch marks
- Pigment disorders
- Problems with the scalp, often in connection with hair loss
How do I use the microneedling pen?
During the treatment, the needling pen is guided over the problematic skin zones according to a certain pattern. The skin is punctured, which leads to cell irritation of the skin cells. This in turn promotes blood circulation on the one hand, and on the other hand natural growth factors are released at the same time.
These are mainly hyaluronic acid, elastic fibers and collagen, which is newly formed in the connective tissue in the lowest layers of the skin. Microneedling thus activates exactly those components of the skin that ensure a firm and smooth surface structure.
Sliding method: Classic gliding over the skin is the method for advanced users. Not every dermapen allows gliding. When used, the pen is simply passed evenly over the skin. About 3 to 4 times should be needled over the same area of skin in this procedure.
Punctual method: The better method for beginners and newcomers. Here you simply hold the dermapen on the skin to be treated and count from 0 to 5 upwards. Then place the dermapen next to it and count again from 0 to 5. Repeat this until the entire body part is treated.
What needle length should the microneedling pen have?
The more serious the skin problem, the longer needles are necessary and the longer the time between the individual treatments. Our diagram shows you how often the Dermapen treatment with 0,25 mm, 0,5 mm, 1,0 mm and 1,5 mm is to be carried out and which needle length is suitable for which skin problem.
How does hyaluronic acid work after needling treatment?
After the treatment, a hyaluronic acid serum is often used because it can trigger two effects. On the one hand, needling the skin stimulates the production of the body's own hyaluronic acid.
Wrinkles and negative skin changes should slowly recede. This skin rejuvenating anti-aging process, however, takes a few days for wound healing to complete.
The second reason is that the fine needles leave tiny skin openings. The substance applied from the outside is quickly absorbed.
